"It's only words, and words are all I have, to take your heart away." —Bee Gees
The writing isn't stellar, and I felt Condie sometimes tries too hard to insert something poetic or meaningful every few paragraphs. But I thought she progressively improved, and by the end I was intrigued enough to want to read the next installment in this series (edit in Oct 2013: I am now not so sure I want to read more of this in particular, and YA dystopian trilogies/quadrilogies/whathaveyou in general). Also, using poetry as a symbol of free thought was a rather nice touch.
