Words of a Bibliophile

"It's only words, and words are all I have, to take your heart away." —Bee Gees

Dracula - Bram Stoker A true classic horror story which excited and thrilled me when reading. Although the story gets a little slow in parts (especially when the characters go out investigating) but it always picks up again with the smallest hints: a howling of wolves, mist seeping through the window, a chill in the air. The writing style that uses journals, letters and newspaper clippings also provided glimpses into the heads of the characters, although it left some of the characters who didn't write journals somewhat less vividly represented in my mind. All that aside, this tale of a band of people rallying together to face the ultimate Un-Dead certainly deserves to be called the godfather of vampire fiction.
